Alejandra Gollas plays INA in LIMINAL
INA, knocked unconscious by JOY, reacts to inner whispers in the White Space.
JOY to INA: “Hey, you’re just going to get a doctor, right? "
INA to JOY: “Do you think a one-breasted woman would cause much trouble?”
INA to JOY: “It stings?” JOY: “Christ, yes!” INA: “And is it still bleeding? I mean the blood is continuing to pump out of the opening?” JOY: “A lot.” INA: “And it burns, probably, too, right?” JOY: “It burns. Yes. Oh, God, it does!”
JOY and INA argue: “Okay, so you’re not dumb.” INA: “That’s right!” JOY: “Okay, so—that’s right.” INA: “If I want to wear a sweater that’s tight, who’s business is that?” JOY: “Nobody’s.” INA: “That’s right! Nobody’s!” JOY: “That’s what I said.”
INA to JOY: “You think your pain is any more wet and red than mine?”
INA: “It looks good on me and I look good in it. I feel like a woman in it and I look like a woman in it.”
JOY to INA: “You make me laugh.”

A woman. Her body. A destructive, controlling voice. INA and JOY are naked and locked in a battle of elimination. INA must reverse the power to survive. Are they lovers or is JOY the “killer-within”? Shot in 35mm in b/w, this 14-minute film will take you below the surface of civilization into the volatile world of the feminine psyche and the white‐hot fight for survival. A simple sweater is the object of fury.
